Murder Plot Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026.
Murder Plot is a deduction game for Android. You don't need to create an account or give us any personal data to play. This policy explains what information is used, what for, and the choices you have.
What is stored on your phone
- Your progress: solved cases, stars, streak, streak freezes, achievements, coins, gems, styles and claimed rewards.
- The game in progress, so you can pick it up later.
- Your game settings.
- An identifier for each gem purchase, so the same purchase is never credited twice.
This data is stored on your device and we don't send it to servers of our own. If you connect to Google Play Games, a copy of your progress is also saved to your Google account (see below). If Android backup is turned on, the system may include it in your Google backup, as with any other app.
You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the game or from Android settings (Apps → Murder Plot → Storage → Clear data). The Play Games copy is deleted separately, from your Play Games profile (see below).
Google Play Games
Connecting to Google Play Games is optional: if you don't, the game works the same and everything stays on your phone. If you connect (or already have a Play Games profile on your phone), the game uses this Google service to:
- Show your player name and avatar in Achievements.
- Record the achievements you unlock and your progress toward them, which appear on your Play Games profile.
- Submit your scores and times to leaderboards (such as the weekly daily-case leaderboard), where other players can see your player name and rank, depending on the visibility you choose for your profile.
- Save a copy of your progress (solved cases, stars, streak, coins, gems and styles) to your Google account, so you can restore it if you reinstall the game or switch phones.
Google handles this data under its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can see or delete your Play Games activity from your Play Games profile in the Google Play app or from your Google account.
Ads (Google AdMob)
Murder Plot shows two kinds of ads:
- Rewarded ads: you only see one if you choose to, in exchange for something in the game, such as an extra hint, a streak freeze, doubling your coins, opening an archive day or an event case, or the daily gift.
- A full-screen ad, every now and then, when you finish a case (after the reveal). It never appears in the middle of a case or when you open the game.
With the Detective Pass, no ads are shown.
To show and measure those ads we use Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address (from which an approximate location is derived), technical device data, your interactions with ads and diagnostic data. Google uses this information to show ads, measure their performance and prevent fraud.
If you live in a region where the law requires it (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or some US states), we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads or give you the option to opt out of them, and you can change your choice in Settings → Ad options.
You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android settings.

Usage statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To understand how the game is played and improve it (for example, which cases turn out too hard or which hints get used), Murder Plot uses Google Analytics for Firebase. It collects:
- How you use the game: the screens you visit, the cases you start and solve, your times, hints, the coins and gems you earn or spend, the rewarded ads you choose to watch and purchases.
- Technical device data (model, Android version and language) and your approximate country or region, derived from your IP address.
- An identifier for the installation, which changes if you reinstall the game.
It doesn't collect your name, your email or your Play Games account, and the game doesn't pass the advertising ID to Analytics. Google processes this data on our behalf, and it is kept for up to 14 months. If you live in a region where the law requires it, statistics only use identifiers if you give your consent (Settings → Ad options).
You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Share usage statistics.

Purchases (Google Play)
The Detective Pass and gem packs are bought through Google Play. Google processes the payment; we never see your payment details. The app only receives the confirmation of each purchase to unlock the Pass or credit the gems on your device.
The Pass is tied to your Google Play account, so it comes back if you reinstall the game. Purchased gems are stored with your progress (see above).
Notifications
If you turn on the daily reminder or event notifications (Settings → Notifications), the notifications are scheduled on your own phone. We don't use notification servers. You can turn them off at any time in Settings or in Android settings.
Sharing results
When you share a result, you can send an image or a text through the app you choose. The image is put together on your phone and shows the case, your stars, your time, the hints you used and your streak; it doesn't include your name or any account details. Murder Plot doesn't receive a copy.
Children
Murder Plot is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll publish the new version with its effective date.
